Hello there! When I started this project, I had a lot of difficulties communicating in Japanese. When I have school, since I'm in English degree, I use English: Japanese for 9:1. Also, I use very casual Japanese in my daily life. I don't live with my parents so I only have chance to use Japanese when I chat with faculty staff. They are so friendly and I go and talk to them everyday when I have school lol Of course I wouldn't bother them when they seem busy lol
What was hard for me was having a meeting in Japanese. When the opponent didn't understand English, then, of course I needed to speak all in Japanese. However, I couldn't come up with some words in Japanese. Sometimes, my Japanese might have sounded absolute strange lol I think my Japanese has improved a lot over this spring holiday since I had a chance emailing in business Japanese, having a meeting and posting fb feeds in proper Japanese so that others would understand. What's easiest for me is to mix Japanese and English!
It sometimes makes me confused since I need to use both English and Japanese for my job. I write emails, have meetings and write blogs in both languages. If it weren't job related, I wouldn't focus improving my Japanese because I thought it would be alright lol However, I realised if both my Japanese and English were "nah" level, I would be useless both in Japanese and abroad.
