Making a new friend

Morning! Yesterday, I hanged out with Abby who I met at the restaurant I went for filming. Recently, I was felling like I can't make a new friend because it's quite an effort to build a relationship. It's mainly because I have other things to focus. We planned to go to a cafe but rather decided to visit my university! By chance, it was graduation day!! There were so many girls wearing special kimono for gradation and I asked one group to take a photo with us! One of the boy said to me "Wow your communication skill is so high!" lol. I'm just easy going! Japanese people tend to be shy meeting people for the first time. Because I'm not, sometimes people ask me if I'm drunk lol It's because Japanese people tend to speak more honestly and open to people when they drink.

I talked about veganism in Japan with Abby. She is vegan by birth and her entire family is vegan. Even her past four generations! The concept "vegan" is still not popular in Japan and people rather thinks it's like religion. But it's not. I used to pursue vegan for a half year in Japan and in England. Especially in Japan, it was not easy. The hardest thing was, my mother tried to kick me out of her house. Because she didn't like the idea me being a vegan. I always cooked by myself and ate separately. She didn't like it. I felt horrible the way she treated me. But I heard of similar stories from several people. Although I'm not vegan anymore, but I still have interests. I mean, I want to help people. In Japan, you don't see food labeled as vegan/vegetarian.

So what I wanna do is to work with convenience store companies to make products labeled as vegan/vegetarian mark. This is mainly not for foreign visitors because you can't read Japanese and can't know what's in it. It's quite a effort for Japanese people as well. Because every time you buy something, you'd need to check what kind of ingredients in it. I messaged one of the most luxurious supermarket but they turned down my idea. I won't give up and will continue suggesting to companies!

See you tomorrow!
