3/11 is the day when Japanese people can never forget. It was when "The great east Japan earthquake" happened. I was 9th grade around that time and I was staying near coast line for school trip. That was exactly after we finished eating lunch and started afternoon class. It was something different. In Japan, we have earthquake quite often but things were different. Our teacher told us to hide under the desks. My friends were crying and screaming. Things were terrible that I can't express in words. I thought I was going to die. Seriously.
After a short while, we were told to get out of the building and stay outside. The ground was still shaking so hard. Teachers were trying to take contact with our school but they couldn't. Luckily, radio worked and we knew that how horrible the situation was in Fukushima, tsunami. We stayed until late evening and managed to get back to school. We were really lucky that we were not hit by the tsunami. Because some other coast line in the same prefecture was hit by tsunami and the cities were devastated.
Things didn't get back to normal for a while. People queued at petrol station and super markets. All tv stations broadcasted about this earthquake. My friends outside of Japan message me if my family was alright.
I can't imagine what the things were like at the epicenter. Where I was staying when this earthquake happened. I prey for today and I appreciate that I am still arrive today.
